Diwali Offers are here to spoil the shoppers
With Diwali just around the corner and many new brands launching themselves in the satellite city, Navi Mumbaiites can expect to be spoilt for choice during their festive shopping. There was a time when shopkeepers only believed in flaunting best of their items, to attract customers. But today it is clearly that discounts ensure sales, like no other. "Earlier there would be only two fixed discounts throughout the year. One would be the annual clearance sale and the other is the monsoon sale. But today every occasion calls for discount offers", says the manager of a retail outlet at Sanpada.
Of course, you cannot expect discounts in every segment of retailing but the big players are ready to take on the unconventional segments too.
Rajesh Mani, President of Operations for Subhiksha retail says that they plan to give special discounts to the members of their loyalty programme. "We are a discount store and have offers throughout the year. Hence, we decided that customers who are part of our loyalty program and fulfill certain criteria will be rewarded with extra discounts on the occasion of Diwali", says Mani.
The spokesperson for the recently opened Big Bazaar outlet at Raghuleela mall, opposite Vashi Infotech Park says that they intend to please customers in a big way. "More players mean more competition and the best player of them all wins", says the spokesperson.
It's all about grabbing eyeballs. So that way even though you intended to shop only for Rs 500 you will extend your budget to Rs 1000, if you know there are gifts in store for you if you shop for Rs 1000 and above. From apparel to vegetables and electronics to furniture, the outlet has big offers in the pipeline.
